The number “Five” has a special meaning to the ancient Chinese people, hence, their culture, medicine, and philosophy. For everyday life, they adopted a five-day weekly cycle. For medicine, they realized that each of the five fingers on each hand corresponded to one of their five major internal organs, and they categorized each organ to be of a certain type -- the Five Elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.
